On 25th and 26th June 2015 the Netherlands Journal of Legal Philosophy will organanise its biennial conference. The 2015 event will be a joint session of the annual conferences of the NJLP and the UK based Association for Social and Political Philosophy and centers around an author-meets-critics session, which will result in a special issue of the NJLP. This years’ session will revolve around Jean Cohen’s paper Freedom of Religion, Inc. Jean Cohen is the Nell and Herbert M. Singer Professor of Political Thought, Department of Political Science, Columbia University. The discussant that will respond to Cohen’s paper are Avigail Eisenberg, Jonathan Seglow, Sune Laegaard, Patrick Looybuyck and Roland Pierik. For further information on the conference and for an abstract of the keynote lecture, please visit the website.

Call for papers and panels
Besides the key note lecture, political, social and legal philosophers from Europe and beyond are invited to present an individual paper or host a panel. Papers are welcome in any area of political, social, or legal philosophy and from any philosophical methodological approach, but we particularly welcome those addressing the conference theme, which is democracy. Papers addressing the theme might examine the very idea of democracy, or might engage with particular issues in democratic theory.
Please send paper/panel proposals to aspp2015@gmail.com by 31st January 2015. Submissions should consist of a title and 400-500 word abstract (for each paper, in the case of panels). For further criteria, please visit the website.
