Anne Ruth Mackor
Anne Ruth Mackor is professor of professional ethics, in particular of juridical professions, at the Faculty of Law of the University of Groningen. She studied law in Leiden and philosophy in Leiden and Groningen and received her doctorate from Groningen. Between 2004 and 2014, she worked as extraordinary professor for professional ethics at the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Theology and Religion Studies of the University of Groningen.
Next to her work as professor of profession ethics, she is member of numerous committees in the areas of policy regarding euthanasia and criminal law, such as a member of the Regional Euthanasia Review Committee for the region Groningen, Friesland, Drenthe and the BES islands, and a member of the policy committee for the revision of the Code of Practice of the Regional Euthanasia Review Committees.
Her research is focused on the area of professional ethics, philosophy of science (the nature of legal science) and philosophy of criminal law (culpability, free will and proof in criminal law). Another area of research concerns the analysis and improvement of models of rational proof in criminal law.

Ronald Tinnevelt
Ronald Tinnevelt is associate professor of legal theory at the Faculty of Law of the Radboud University Nijmegen. He studied philosophy and governance in Nijmegen and received his doctorate from the Higher Institute for Philosophy of the Catholic University Leuven for a dissertation on the relationship between law and democracy. In the past, he has worked at Harvard University and Stanford University in the United States, amongst others.
Additionally, he is chief editor of the Algemeen Nederlands Tijdschrift voor Wijsbegeerte (General Dutch Journal for Philosophy), head of the Science Committee of the Faculty of Law, head of the Ethical Committee for the Faculty of Law and Faculty of Management, and co-director of the Nijmegen Political Philosophy Workshop.
He primarily publishes on the topics of justice and democracy.
