On 10th February the Radboud University Nijmegen organizes an informal colloquium in honour of the exchange between the section legal philosophy of the Radboud University Nijmegen and the faculty of legal philosophy of the Universidade Federale de Santa Catarina in Florianopolis, Brazilië. The colloquium deals with the theme ‘Life and Death in Kant’s Moral and Political Philosophy’ and the main speakers are: Profs. Darlei Dall’Agnol (Florianopolis) on the death penalty in Kant’s work; Milene Consenso Tenetto (Florianopolis) on Kant and assisted suicide; Thomas Mertens (Nijmegen) on the state of exception in Kant’s work; Ronald Tinnevelt/ Lonneke Peperkamp (Nijmegen) on Kant, war and ‘the right to subsistence’. The colloquium will be held in English and take place in the Grotius Building, starting at 14.30.
