To prepare a special issue for Erasmus Law Review, entitled The Incorporation Problem in Interdisciplinary Legal Research, an authors’ symposium will be held on 17th October, from 9.30h to 17.00h. The symposium will be held in Hotel New York, Rotterdam. The symposium is free of charge, but admission is by registration via the website only. Places are limited. For further questions, please contact Marielle Duijndam (arwsec@law.eur.nl).
The central question of the symposium is: How can we translate and incorporate the various non-legal disciplines and their findings into the language of legal doctrine? The aim of the symposium is to discuss the draft papers for the special issue edited by Wibren van der Burg and Sanne Taekema, and to have a fruitful dialogue about the arguments made. The issue will contain three types of contributions, theoretical discussions of the question, discussion of specific legal interdisciplines, and case studies.
The workshop will be small, with 20-30 participants, and have the following format: all participants read the papers in advance. The authors do not present their own paper; instead, a discussant presents his understanding of the argument and feedback. Ample time will be reserved for plenary discussion of each paper.
