On 15th December 2014, the section legal philosophy of the Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen will host a workshop on the recent, Dutch publication on Hegel’s philosophy (‘Hoofdlijnen van de rechtsfilosofie, Boom Amsterdam). During the closed workshop several key passages will be read and discussed. Central questions of the workshop include: Can Hegel help us to better understand the contemporary society; what does he teach us on individual rights and possible excesses of society; how does individual freedom relate to the political community to which the individual belongs? The following authors will contribute to the workshop: Christian Krijnen (VU), Joseph Fleuren (RU), Thomas Mertens (RU), Eric Boot (RU), Ad Verbrugge (VU), Bart Labuschagne (UL), Lukas van den Berge (UU), en Gerrit Steunebrink (RU).
The workshop will take place from 13.30 at the Faculty of law of the Radboud University Nijmegen in Grotiusgebouw room 1.109 (Montessorilaan 10). Interested scholars can subscribe by sending an email to Eric Boot (e.boot@jur.ru.nl). There is place for maximum 25 participants.
